About this deal

When a snowman made of dingy (black) snow comes to life thanks to a magical kente cloth, he helps Jacob see the positive. This story is an amazing book that teaches many things to people who think negatively about their own race and others as well. Actually, the first time I got a chance to read it, I shared reading it to a 37 year old man that I was tutoring. The Black Snowman is about a young boy named Jacob Miller who has a problem of appreciating being African American. Even when it is impossible to provide them with stories of their own ancestors, reinforce that we are all members of the family of God.

David Shrigley takes his camera almost everywhere with him, either to photograph 'interventions' or to produce photographs upon which he then draws. The Black Snowman" is about a little boy, Jacob, who hates being black and does not understand the significance his heritage. The book was listed in "good" condition, when actually, it was in "very-good to pristine" condition. The fact that the snowman is made of out dirty snow and a rag implies that black is dirty, but yet, the boy is supposed to be proud of this. Made from a comfortable jersey fabric, it features a snowman print with 3/4 length sleeves and a scoop neckline.Romans 8:16-17 – It is that very Spirit bearing witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ– if, in fact, we suffer with him so that we may also be glorified with him. He comes to value his own family and racial heritage through the magical powers of a piece of kinte cloth.

Peewee finds the kente in a trash bin and drapes The Black Snowman with the beautiful rag and he comes to life!Jacob and his younger brother (Peewee) take a walk in the snow and end up making a black snowman because the snow was dirty from all the people walking around it. Märzendorfer manufactures objects out of frozen water or ink: ephemeral sculptures whose disintegration begins the moment they are presented. I kept reading, and afterwards all the children were grinning and murmuring, "THAT was a good book," and similar sentiments. Byard's haunting color drawings bring to life not only the snowman; they successfully portray the many contrasts between Jacob's dour moods, Peewee's optimism, the dingy apartment and the eerie parade of stately African tribesmen. The characters in this book give us a story of how one should be proud of their heritage and who they are.
